Details on Menu:

Café Bacchus has taken the menu that survived the sinking and created a four-course dinner.  Some of the courses have some interesting trivia associated with them.  First Course - Potage Saint-Germain (Spring Pea Soup) was named after the Comet deSaint-Germain, war minister to LouisXV.  The second course would have actually been the Fish or Third Course for the lavish 11 course meal.  The sauce for the salmon is similar to a classic hollandaise with some additional whipped cream added.  The entrée selection reflects a variety of options.  The curry dish was chosen for the Titanic menu as the English had learned to love the flavor of curry during the many years that they were in India.  The Filet was served in the Fourth Course which was considered the Entrée.  Filet Mignon was and still is one of the most expensive and delicious cuts of beef available. Finally, our desert course is Oranges en Surprise which is similar to a baked Alaska.  In 1912, citrus fruits were still a rarity in the northern climates which made this desert very exotic.  Information for this article is from:  [Archibald, Rick (1997) The Last Dinner on the Titanic. What it's all About:

Lovers of good food and fascination with the Titanic will have a chance to indulge their passions when Café Bacchus hosts the Titanic Dinner in honor of Lucian Smith.  Smith, a former resident at the High Street house that is now Café Bacchus, was on board the Titanic when the ship sank on April 14, 1912.  Lucian Smith and Eloise Hughes Smith were returning from their honeymoon when they decided to sail the ill-fated voyage.  Eloise survived and was carrying their son who she named after Lucian, the father that he never knew.
